The dissonant note is basically a note out of the scale. For example, the entire song Bulls on Parade is based on F#. So, any note out of the scale of F# would be considered dissonant. All you need to play the solo is guitar with two pickups and two volume knobs, one for each pickup. Put the volume of one to 0, while the other pickup at 10. Now, rub your left hand's palm on the strings over pickups, all the while alternating between pickups. In order for the scratching to be adequately, use a whammy pedal set up 2 octaves.
